About the role

Citizens Advice Hammersmith & Fulham (CAHF), part of the national Citizens Advice network, is a thriving local advice organisation that provides information, advice and casework support to 18,000 local people per year. We are recruiting for a Generalist Adviser for our City Bridge Project.

This is your opportunity to join a pioneering advice project working with selected charity and community partner organisations across Hammersmith & Fulham. The overriding aim of the project is to support and assist local residents who are affected by poverty. We require a dynamic individual who can deliver outreach generalist advice to vulnerable clients with multiple issues.

This role requires considerable self-motivation and resilience to create strong relationships with our partners who work with individuals suffering from homelessness, addiction and poor mental health. You will need to be confident in giving high quality generalist advice in an independent setting, but with the full support of your line manager and the Citizens Advice Hammersmith & Fulham supervision team.

To deliver this role you must demonstrate the ability

- To use sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the issues and

empower clients, whilst maintaining structure and control.

- Deliver and manage a caseload of clients to provide advice support on welfare benefits,

housing, debt, and other issues.

- Identify the need to signpost and refer to specialists when necessary.

- To prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and organise and manage time effectively under their

own initiative

- Paid service closure days between Christmas and New Year

- Possible hybrid working upon completion of a probation period

- Access to our in-house learning platform for career and role development

- 24/7 employee support through our well-being service
