Capturing the findings on consumer impacts from Low Carbon Networks Fund projects

LCNF Cover

The Low Carbon Networks Fund (LCNF) is a £500m fund managed by Ofgem that supports projects sponsored by the Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to pilot new technology, operating and commercial arrangements. The aim is to help all DNOs understand how they can provide security of supply at value for money as we move to a low carbon economy. As a by-product, it is also the main window onto the future challenges and opportunities the smart grid will present for consumers. Yet the project outputs can be difficult to navigate and compare, and there is a risk that impacts on and key learnings for consumers will be missed. Citizens Advice commissioned this research to capture findings on consumer impacts from the most relevant LNCF projects.
