About the role
Citizens Advice Gateshead is looking for a dedicated Housing Solicitor to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert legal advice, casework, and advocacy on a wide range of housing issues. You will work primarily under legal aid contracts, helping clients understand their rights and responsibilities, and supporting them through complex housing challenges.
We are looking for a qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate or be eligible to apply for a practising certificate. Training specific to this service will be provided as part of the role.
What you'll be doing
You will provide advice, casework, and advocacy on housing issues for clients in Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham, and South Tyneside through our legal aid contracts, as well as for our non-legal aid services.
You must have excellent organisational and client care skills, work independently, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high accuracy.
You will deliver advice at various community settings across the region. A UK driving licence is useful but not essential.
